| I hate anime vs. disney bbs threads |
| 10.03.03 (2:24 pm) [edit] |
Well, looks like the prodigal Blogger has returned.
Lookin' at one of my art threads I saw a anime vs. disney thread. I started reading it until I realized that I've read the exact same arguements both ways every single time I've ever seen one of these threads posted. So I got mad and posted this odd counter post to both parties. I also felt obliged to force my wisdom onto you guys.
-----------------------
well, there's nothing more that's new or intellegent that can be said about this conversation. So I'll just say a couple things that have undoubtedly been re-iterated else-where.
1) Never bring up anime in a general art forum. I'm nuetral on the topic, but 70% of the populus is STRONGLY biased one way or the other. Lengthy BORING repetitive arguments will always crop up as people bash USvsJapan style animation pros and cons. This is string #4 that I've read in the past 2 months touching the subject. IT'S THE SAME THREAD EVERYTIME!!!! And I am not enlightened in any by reading this.
Sorry, but it's an old-hat arguement that's never gonna die. You guys might as well accept the fact and save your breath.
2) watch with discretion. If you like something, watch it. If you don't, don't.
3) Advertise with even more discretion.
If you like something and you want to share it with the world, think before you speak before you open yourself to get hit. THIS GOES THE OTHER WAY TOO!!!! If you really don't like something, DON'T say so if it might cause a ruccus.
I'll go ahead and give an example (if you disagree, give me a message, don't bring it up here.) I hate Keanue Reeve's acting. Sure, he's good in the matrix, but that's because his scripts short one-liners mostly in the type of emotion that this Johnny-one-note CAN show. Everything else he does sucks because he doesn't change his emotion (IMO). Case in point: I was regrettably watching "The Devil's Advocate" in a room full of fresh-outta-highschool ditzes who loved Keanue. I started dissing Reeves and the movie. I got booed and kicked out of the room. See above for moral.
4) What's everyone trying to prove with these threads anyways?
